Dental Extractions

What is a Tooth Extraction?

Extractions are surgeries that can be done right in the office. The procedure involves removing a tooth that has become an issue to your oral health. Extractions are always done safely and easily in our office here at Bellevue Square Dental Care. The reason you may need an extraction will vary, but our goal is to make the procedure as safe and comfortable as possible for you.

Why would a Tooth Extraction be needed?

There are several factors that could govern needing an extraction. First, a tooth might be loose due to gum disease. You might have a tooth that is severely decayed or damaged, and it needs to be taken out as soon as possible. You might have an impacted wisdom tooth or have a child who needs a baby tooth removed. We are here to provide you with the best care possible regarding extractions.

Who is a candidate for a Tooth Extraction?

The best candidate for an extraction is someone who comes in for a consultation and exam. This gives us a chance to see what you may need and how to go about removing the tooth completely. It is important that you come into the office for an exam if you believe there is a problem. It is never too late to start taking out teeth that are an issue to your oral health.

What happens during the Tooth Extraction?

The extraction process always begins with sedation or anesthetic. You can choose the sedation of your needs when coming in to consult with us. The next step is for us to carefully remove the tooth from the gums using special tools. After the tooth has been removed, we will place sutures to help close the gums completely. The process is very quick and we aim to make it as painless as possible for every single patient coming through our doors.
